Great coffees and some interesting goods available in store
Merchant and Maker general store is a must visit. The owner (Steve) is an international standard chef. His sauce creations and bread making rivals the best Italian nonnas. The coffee is worth traveling across Australia for. The staff are so friendly and the produce in store is of the freshest quality. The Southwest has so much to offer and must see places. Merchant and Maker is the number one spot. Looking forward to returning very soon.
Are you in an indie band? Did you get lost somewhere between a vintage boutique and hipster ville?A lot of staff for what took a 35 mins for 2x flat whites! The staff were very pleasant but there seems to be a unawareness that they are in a hospitality role.The point is, its incredibly un-ergonomic... the wait time makes no sense and therefore will not be returning. Coffee is 6/10 (Melb/ Sydney level) Seems popular none the less...
Coffee was great! Small frustration with the service and the way they run their ordering system - is it one queue or 2? I ended up waiting in the second queue as the person taking the orders left us queuing and disappeared. Im guessing this is more of a holiday time issue as there were a lot of people in the shop. Anyway, coffee awesome - the rest of the produce looks excellent too!
The coffee at this venue is something that you should treat yourself to as often as possible. It doesn't require a hedonistic bent, you needn't live a Bacchanalian life - you just need to have the coffee here so that when you look to your bucket list in the waning years of your life you aren't saddened by the un-checked box next to 'Drink the best coffee in Dunsborough'. Get the espresso, come back for a filter coffee and slide through the afternoon with a latte. Go on, do it. Before its too late.
